On Feb. 4, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office arrested a male at a standoff at The Ridge Clemson apartment complex.
The PCSO later identified the individual as 24-year-old Christopher Dylan Patterson of Pickens County.
The incident occurred during an investigation by the PCSO and the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, during which the department planned to serve Patterson with arrest warrants.
The active warrants are for possession of a firearm and a probation violation, both felony charges, the PCSO told WSPA News.
Once law enforcement arrived at The Ridge and knew Patterson was in the apartment, deputies said that Patterson refused the order to come to the door and “comply with orders to exit the residence.”
After several attempts to call him out of the residence to no avail, law enforcement decided to move carefully due to Patterson’s previous firearm charges. Officers used a K-9 to assist with the arrest.
Emergency responders took Patterson to a nearby hospital after he sustained minor injuries from the K-9. After his discharge, he was booked in the Pickens County Detention Center.
Upon his booking, Patterson also received an additional charge for resisting arrest. He has been arrested a total of eight times.
His first known arrest occurred on July 20, 2023, resulting in a charge for possession of a controlled substance.
In 2024, Patterson was arrested three more times. These charges included malicious injury to personal property, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, criminal conspiracy, breach of peace aggravated in nature and failure to stop for blue light as a first offense.
With three more arrests in 2025, he was additionally charged with second-degree assault and battery, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of certain crimes as a first offense, unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person, sale or possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and petit larceny.
In his most recent arrest on Feb. 4, Patterson was charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon and resisting arrest.
