There are numerous liquor stores in the Clemson area, offering consumers a wide variety of options. Still, it appears that one location reigns supreme above them all: Palmetto Spirits.

Located just off the intersection of Tiger Boulevard and Old Greenville Highway, Palmetto Spirits offers a large selection of different liquors and canned alcoholic beverages. But with so many options, what sets the store apart from its competitors?

“I’ve heard we’ve got good vibes,” said Xavier, an employee at the store since 2020. “Our prices are pretty low, cheaper than other stores.”

As The Tiger interviewed Xavier and another coworker about why they felt the store won the award, a regular walked into the store and was immediately greeted like family. That type of welcoming environment is why that customer says she returns to the store for their purchases.

“Not only is the staff very friendly and helpful, but they remember your regular order when you walk in,” the customer said. “Sometimes they can even be like, if I’m having a rough day, I can talk to them.”

That level of customer service at Palmetto Spirits keeps customers loyal and has earned the store the title of Best Liquor Store in Clemson.
