Neon lights wash the room in electric color. Sweat is still warm on your skin. Music ringing in your ears. The pulse of hard work pays off. Grinding it out shoulder-to-shoulder among a group of dedicated, hard-working individuals like yourself. What could be more motivating? Voted Clemson’s Best Workout Class, cycle is the ride everyone’s buzzing about!
Nearly 30 group fitness cycling classes are offered each week at Douthit Hills Fitness Center and Fike Recreation Center. Constantly in high demand, students rush to register as soon as sign-ups open online. Spots fill within seconds, proof of just how eager and excited students are to secure their bikes.
The University’s group fitness classes make student health and wellness easy through their accessibility and affordability. Included in tuition, these classes are free for all students and welcome everyone from beginners trying cycling for the first time to experienced riders looking for a challenge.
“I think students enjoy cycle classes so much because of the intensity, momentum and sense of community it builds. It’s challenging, but with a great playlist and varied drills, the time flies and you find yourself pushing harder than you expected,” Sophia Santoro, a cycle instructor, told The Tiger. “It’s a chance to move your body, reset after a stressful day or celebrate a win. I also have to shout out our instructors — they bring the energy, build incredible playlists and create an environment that makes people want to keep coming back.”
The cycle studio is where the energy is, with lights flashing, music pumping and riders feeling the burn. Sign up, grab your bike and experience the wonder of Clemson cycle!
