Clemson recently announced that they will be administering vaccines on campus for students and staff and, though this is a great update, the vaccine seems questionable. This new “Tiger Vaccine” was developed by Clemson students, for Clemson students. It was developed by the same group that made the spit test we are all so familiar with. It features immunity to COVID-19 in one shot, much like that of Johnson & Johnson. It also claims to boost the energy of the recipient by up to 50%.
The university claims that they developed this vaccine to boost morale and energy on campus. They also claim it will cure burnout experienced after a semester online while also immunizing students. It is a bright orange colored shot that is relatively quick to receive, and the side effects seem limited. Students who received the trail vaccination reported high boosts of energy and also reported needing significantly less sleep. This vaccine is not yet approved by the CDC, but it is hoped that will happen soon. I think students will be excited to receive this vaccine not only for immunity but the boost in energy. I know I could use an energy boost from time to time!
This vaccine is a great opportunity for students to not only protect themselves from COVID-19, but to also quickly recover from the loss of energy brought on by a stressful semester. It is also a great way for those who don’t have enough energy for classes and exercise to boost their day. Coffee and caffeine are now things of the past.
If you still need another reason to get the Tiger Vaccine, then look no further than the fact that Clemson offers a free vaccination sticker to all who get it! Who doesn’t love free stickers?
The university intends to vaccinate students in a similar way to how we are currently tested each week, via a walk-through style service. Students will enter one side of the stadium and receive their vaccination and will then continue to walk around the rest of the way to ensure no bad side effects. The university assured that the process of cleaning the stadium is already well underway and that the vaccine will be administered in the best of environments.
All in all, you should get the vaccine as soon as you can! With the added benefit of a one-dose vaccine and the energy boost it promises, who wouldn’t want it? Besides, doesn’t every Clemson student want the orange of a Clemson sunset flowing through their veins?
