After years of serving hardly edible foods to students, the Schilletter Dining Hall of West Campus is about to reinvent itself. The University has decided to dump an exorbitant amount of money into the dining hall, more commonly known as “shitter” amongst students. You can say goodbye to meatloaf and beef hash and warmly welcome high-end food options and theme days.
Students’ new choices include meat-carving Monday supplied by the kitchens of restaurants such as Rick Erwin’s and Blue Heron. Also available will be Taco Tuesdays brought in from Tipsy Taco, and Hoagie Humpday on Wednesdays with sandwiches catered by both Jersey Mike’s and Jimmy John’s. Thirsty Thursdays will make its debut on campus and will be filled with smoothie and milkshake options sponsored by All-in Nutrition and featuring all 40 Cook Out milkshake flavors. Finish off the week with Favorite Fridays, with selections from Zaxby’s, Pixie and Bills, Osaka and more. Quite arguably best of all will be Smokin’ Pig Saturday with southern barbecue staples prepared by Pendleton’s Smokin’ Pig venue.
In addition to these weekly options, for lunch and dinner, there will always be a hibachi grill station offered at dinner and a brick oven pizza option, Todaro’s style. Regarding your mornings, there will be sufficient Nespresso machines for that morning pick-me-up along with freshly baked bagels, muffins and croissants to pair with a numerous farm-fresh omelet station with all the fixings!
The University hopes you are excited as they are to finally fuel your mind and body with food you can taste, decipher exactly what it is and enjoy!
